12pm – Power & Principles: Engineering Ethics in the AI Era

Abstract

As electrical engineering advances into an era of AI-driven grids and autonomous systems, engineers face increasingly complex ethical decisions. This keynote explores the critical intersection where technical expertise meets moral responsibility in our rapidly evolving industry. Through examination of real-world cases and interactive scenarios, we’ll address key challenges in AI integration, data privacy, and critical infrastructure design. Participants will gain practical frameworks for ethical decision-making that balance innovation with responsibility. This session provides actionable tools for navigating the ethical dimensions of modern electrical engineering, particularly valuable for professionals working in power systems, smart grid technology, and infrastructure development.
