Provides up to $125,000 per year

The Houston Electric League Scholarship Foundation (HELSF) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provide scholarships to the kids of HEL members attending universities or trade schools. Additionally, it offers up to $100,000 per year in scholarships to Junior & Senior level college students. The HELSF sponsors a summer intern program, whereby eligible students work for HEL member companies, providing valuable work experience to their educational resumes.

The HEL is also a strong supporter of the Professional Association of Industrial Distribution (PAID), a Texas A&M Student Association, and the Supply Chain Industry and Distribution Organization (SIDO), a University of Houston student organization. PAID and SIDO are organizational platforms for promoting student involvement with Industrial Distribution and Supply Chain Logistics Technology faculty and industry personnel. Student members organize and publicize business meetings, power lunches, social events, field trips, publications, and more to provide opportunities outside the classroom that enhance career skills.

The Houston Electrical League (HEL) has always supported our youth and members desiring to enhance their education or develop additional trade skills. HEL and HELSF Scholarships have benefited students pursuing their Undergraduate Degree at a four-year university, Associate Degree from a junior college, and applicants deciding to attend a trade school to enhance their work skills.
